The Vetstar Animal Disease Diagnostic System (VADDS)

The Vetstar Animal Disease Diagnostic System (VADDS) has been successfully running animal laboratories since 1984. It combines medical management with all aspects of accounting, and is the only animal LIMS system with integrated general ledger, purchase order, inventory and accounts payable.

VADDS is a comprehensive disease and diagnostic lab system designed exclusively for animal laboratory management. It is NOT a human lab system with features for animal labs, but a system designed with animal diagnostic labs to specifically meet the present and future needs of an animal laboratory.

Many VADDS laboratories operate in a "paperless" environment where all staff have immediate access to information as it occurs. VADDS includes many techniques to assist doctors and technicians in rapidly entering test results, comments and case reports. it is also the only LIMS system with a 100% user-defined reporting module.

VADDS is a real time computer system which automates all areas of the lab including; gross pathology, histopathology, serology, virology, bacteriology, mycology, toxicology, clinical pathology, and can accommodate any additional lab as the system is designed using a USER DEFINED RELATIONAL DATABASE. VADDS accommodates analysis of disease among animals both individually and in herds, flocks, etc., and is the only system in the world, which uses a true taxonomy table for determining the scientific classification of animals and organisms. This allows you to set testing criteria and research based on family, class, strain, species, breed or any other taxonomy category you establish in the taxonomy table.

Additionally, VADDS has extensive statistical reporting capabilities, as well as, retrospective searches of lab results. An optional fully integrated accounting system is available which includes: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchase Order and Inventory. A report writer is available for generation of custom user defined reports. VADDS operates with either Oracle, SQL Server or Pro-ISAM databases. VADDS interfaces to lab instruments using sophisticated WINDOWS based software. Auto-faxing of case reports, test reports and other reports is also supported. A remote login module allows referring veterinarians and other interested parties access to the system to review case status, This is controlled with an elaborate security structure to insure proper usage.

If you forget where a menu or function is, you simply do a function search using any combination of letters. Help message instructions are provided for each field entry.

Quick Commands
VADDS has Quick Commands! These are user defined codes, which immediately execute a function in VADDS. The Quick Commands can be lab-wide available for all VADDS ushers) or personalized by each user in VADDS. Quick Command eliminates the need to navigate through a series of menus to locate the function you want.
